OUR MISSION

NAACP IMAGE_edited.jpg

Established in 1909, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is America's oldest and largest civil rights organization.  It was formed by Black and White activists confronting the ongoing violence against Black Americans.

Our mission is to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.

The Antelope Valley is currently home to many of the highest racial disparities in not only Los Angeles County, but the State of California as well.  Our branch is dedicated to empowering our community with a heavy focus on education, the collaboration and empowerment of other advocacy organizations, and being responsive to the needs of our community.
